When you first visit communitydesk.co.za, we ask which optional cookies you allow. Nothing optional is set until you choose. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and change your mind at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page. Rejecting optional cookies does not stop you using the website, the chat or the free trial.

These make the site and app work and keep them secure, so they can’t be switched off:

• next-auth.session-token, next-auth.csrf-token, next-auth.callback-url: keep you signed in and protect sign-in forms (up to 30 days; ended when you sign out or are signed out for inactivity).
• cd-language: remembers the language you chose (12 months).
• communitydesk-settings, colorPref: remember display settings such as light or dark mode.
• communitydesk-active-estate, communitydesk-portal-unit: remember which scheme or unit you are working in (app only, 12 months).
• cd_chat: keeps your chat with our assistant together while you use it (until you close the browser, unless you allow functional cookies).
• cd-ref: if you arrived through a referral link, credits the person who referred you during this visit.
• cd_consent: remembers the cookie choices you made (12 months).
• cd-last-activity (local storage): signs you out of the app after a period without activity.
• cd-support, cd-support-ro, cd_social_state: used only by our own team, during a support session or when connecting our social media accounts.

• cd_chat: remembers your chat with our assistant for 24 hours, so you can pick it up on another page or later the same day.
• cd-ref: remembers a referral link for 60 days, so the person who referred you is credited if you sign up later.

• cd_vid: a random visitor number, so we can count returning visits (12 months).
• cd_sid: a random visit number, so we can see which pages help during one visit (30 minutes).

These are our own cookies. The statistics stay with us, are not linked to your name or email, and are not shared with advertisers. We also respect your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.

Besides Cookie Settings, your browser lets you see and delete cookies and block them. If you block strictly necessary cookies, signing in and some features will not work.
